School Funraising

School Fundraising is easy with memorial bricks! In 1992, a public high school fundraising project raised over $100,000 using engraved bricks. The area, in 1992 was in an economic downturn and the school needed funds to help with a construction project. The school fundraising project was one of the brick fundraising projects in the country to include the school logo engraved in a 6 foot brick engraving. The funds were raised, and construction has been completed, but the unexpected intangible benefits of this school fundraising project continue on and on. The brick fundraising wall has become a source of community and school pride. Alumni come together periodically to keep the wall and surrounding grounds maintained. According to the current principal, both alumni and their families stop by often to see 'their' brick. As she pointed out - people lose their school annuals, but the brick is still there as tangible proof that they attended this school, as a concrete reminder of their place in the history of the community. The wall is more than a row of bricks - it's a piece of public art. In all these years, there's been no graffiti, no vandalism, and no neglect - even though the school itself suffers the occasional prank, and the wall is located down the hill on the corner of a busy intersection - a prime target for easy graffiti. Larry Cannon (www.bricksculpture.com) has been a brick artist and brick fundraising specialist since 1988. He's helped groups of all sizes and interests raise needed funds with brick fundraising. His work is unique in combining public art with fundraising - leaving a legacy that grows, binds a community, and deeply touches donors whose names are part of the school fundraising project. Brick Fundraising is used by charities, sports teams, veteran's groups, government buildings, religious institutions, hospitals, schools and colleges, museums, civic organizations, non-profits ... any group can create a lasting tribute with a brick fundraising campaign.
