PRWEB) May 7, 2007 -- Lightolier, the leader in interior lighting for over a century, has announced an expansion to the Calculite Matrix® line of square and rectangular aperture recessed downlights. The new 4" square aperture products were designed exclusively around MR16 sources, including low voltage and the new 20 watt metal halide lamps.
The offering consists of general downlight, adjustable accent, wall wash and wet location luminaires. The adjustable accent fixtures feature the next generation of Calculite's EZ-Aim™ gear-driven adjustment system with an optimized lamp path to maximize light output at tilt angles up to 45 degrees. An integral aiming indicator allows that light to be aimed consistently where it's needed while a precision machined worm gear and sintered steel drive arm ensure precise hot aiming and locking of lamp position.
"Rectangular and square apertures integrate seamlessly with the wide variety of architectural forms and suspended ceiling systems common in today's architectural environment," said Ken Czech, General Manager of Specification Downlighting for Lightolier. "The new Matrix downlights enhance an already extensive palette of symmetrical elements, allowing specifiers to achieve dynamic lighting effects while maintaining a consistent appearance from below."
The new MR16 fixtures are esthetically and functionally consistent with the existing Matrix line, which includes energy-efficient compact fluorescent, metal halide and halogen fixtures. Standard open reflector trims provide excellent glare control with 55 degree visual and reflected cutoff. Lensed trims are UL listed for installation in wet locations and incorporate diffusion lenses to soften the lamp image. Lensed wall washers provide smooth, even vertical illumination with wide spacing. All reflector trims are available in Specular Clear, Comfort Clear™, Comfort Clear Diffuse™, and White finishes to match other Calculite downlights.
Matrix will be available for demonstration at Lightfair International trade show and conference, May 8-10, in booth number 639.
