www.thorntonprojects.co.uk) has won another new retail fit out contract, a fast-track fit out to both design and build the first sandwich bar for "Create It Yourself" in the prestigious Bridgewater Place, Leeds.
Create is a completely new concept based around good eating, through freshness, choice and speed. Using self-serve chiller cabinets their customers, typically city workers, will create their own food. The customer is in control and creates the kind of food they want to eat from carefully chosen ingredients. Thornton's role will be to create the fun and funky setting of their contemporary stores.
Bridgewater Place is Leeds' tallest landmark and it is in the ground floor of this building that Thornton projects (
www.thorntonprojects.co.uk) will create a modern, fun and funky eating environment to launch this exciting new concept. Designs have already been approved and work is set to begin in early January.
Through their comprehensive design service (
http://www.thorntonprojects.co.uk/design.htm), and aided by Create Space's clear vision, Thornton provided 3d visualizations of the retail fit out scheme in advance to make planning and costing the full turnkey fit out solution easier.
The space will comprise stainless steel food preparation areas, refrigerated food display cabinets, modern, funky furniture, graphics and signage to windows, and an attractive lighting scheme. Hygienic laminated coverings will be used and Thornton Projects will also liaise with catering equipment suppliers and project manages the installation and commissioning of this equipment within the overall fit out project. Thornton's recently acquired joinery shop will also develop a stunning bespoke counter installation.
