This major initiative will include a series of national, state and local activities to honor and celebrate parents for their leadership roles in their homes and communities.
In honor of National Parent Leadership Month, PreschoolRock.com is accepting nominations for Parent Leaders in communities around the U.S. One Parent Leader will be awarded a women’s 3-stone diamond pendant or a men’s Cyma watch from Spinelle Fine Jewelers of Napa, California.
Parent Leaders are parents, grandparents, kinship care providers, foster parents, or anyone in a parenting role who have addressed the challenges of parenting, gained the knowledge and skills to function in meaningful leadership roles and represent a “parent voice” to help shape the direction of their families, programs and communities. For example, a Parent Leader may be a PTA member, serve on a community task force or board of directors or provide testimony to the school board or other important planning body.
Persons wanting to nominate a friend, family member, colleague or member of their community may do so by visiting
www.PreschoolRock.com. Any individual, school, parent organization or similar group may nominate a parent to be selected as a Parent Leader for National Parent Leadership Month.
As the nominees are posted on PreschoolRock.com, visitors of the network will select, via an online polling system, one parent they believe should be given special recognition. Once the polls are closed, the PreschoolRock.com editorial staff will evaluate the poll results to determine the winner. Parent Leader selection will be based on poll results.
All qualified nominees will receive a Parent Leader Certificate of Recognition provided by Parents Anonymous®, Inc. One Parent Leader, selected by our readers, will be awarded a women’s 3-stone diamond pendant or a men’s Cyma watch with a tenueau shape ("wine barrel") stainless steel case and leather strap from Spinelle Fine Jewelers.
