August 26, 2005 -- Welch Architectural Signage of Scarborough, ME, recently unveiled their newly redesigned Web site at http://www.welchusa.com. It was developed by flyte new media, a prominent web design and Internet marketing firm located in Portland, ME.
“ Our exclusive 'flyte plan' ensures that all the elements of a successful Web site — design, copy, and marketing — do more than just look grea... ”
The Welch Companies, Welch Stencil Company (established in 1855) and Welch Architectural Signage, which designs and manufactures facility signs and donor recognition walls for facilities nationwide, have had an online presence for years. But company president Terry Davis, AIA, said the new site does much more.
“Rich Brooks and his team at flyte did some amazing custom programming for our new site. For example, instead of just showing examples of signs we've made for various buildings, visitors can now search for certain types of signs, and the Web site automatically displays them on a special page created just for them.”
Brooks, president of flyte new media, added, “In order to offer this capability, we created an administrative area behind the scenes. Welch employees can now log in and add project photos and descriptions to an online database. Now, instead of static, unchanging web pages, the database actually designs and fills some pages dynamically, 'on the fly,' based on a visitor's search criteria.”
This new capability allows Welch's sales staff to create specialized searches for prospects, then save that search. That generates an individual Web address (or URLs) for that particular page, which can then be emailed to a prospect. “Essentially, this allows Welch's sales force to create on-the-fly portfolios, each targeted to a certain prospect's particular needs,” Brooks said. “This will not only speed up the sales process, but reduce or eliminate the expense of printed sales sheets.”
Welch's state of the art architectural signage provides numerous options to architects and interior designers: design-only, build-only, or design, consult and manufacture. Their staff works closely with architects and designers during the design and spec writing process to ensure continuity and eliminate duplication of effort.
Davis said, “Our redesigned web site is another example of the way flyte focuses on building businesses, not just web sites.” Brooks added, “Our exclusive 'flyte plan' ensures that all the elements of a successful Web site — design, copy, and marketing — do more than just look great. They must support the client's business goals.”
In addition to web design and development, flyte new media provides search engine optimization, targeted email communications, business blogs and other peer-to-peer marketing assistance, all designed to drive more traffic to a company's Web site.
