Teleconference(PRWEB) January 13, 2006 -– This course will provide the knowledge and practical insight needed to understand the legal and administrative issues associated with construction contracts. The course will include a review of basic contract principles and explore specific issues that should be addressed in construction contracts. Discussions will focus on a variety of contract forms and clauses, which reflect the most relevant and current issues in the construction industry.
Victor A. Anderson, Jr. is an attorney with the law firm of Anderson, Jones & Gengo, PLLC. Mr. Anderson practices in construction law, construction litigation, collections, OSHA defense, contracts, administrative law and administrative litigation. He has a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at Campbell University and a J.D. degree from Campbell University. Mr. Anderson is a member of the North Carolina State Bar.
Timothy J. Fitzgerald has served the construction industry for over 26 years as a master project scheduler, claims consultant, expert witness and project manager. Having worked as a scheduler for projects as large as $450M and as a claims consultant on matters of scheduling, productivity, efficiency and damages, Mr. Fitzgerald has a unique ability to bring to his presentations practical aspects of scheduling, as well as first-hand knowledge of the many traps and pitfalls embedded in the scheduling process. Mr. Fitzgerald is the president of Fitzgerald & Associates, LLC in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving owners, designers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and developers in matters ranging from claims, claims avoidance, scheduling and expert witness testimony. Using state-of-the-art scheduling techniques, Mr. Fitzgerald has appeared in state and federal courts and numerous ADR forums, testifying on a wide range of issues, typically involving the scheduling process. Currently, Mr. Fitzgerald is scheduling the construction of a large theater complex being built within a historical warehouse building, testifying on two loss production cases for electrical contractors and supporting claims for dredging, excavation, mold remediation and damages, retaining wall failure, utility line installation, large scale change order impacts, environmental system product failure at a manufacturing plant, mechanical system design failures and numerous matters related to scheduling defects. Mr. Fitzgerald’s expertise includes commercial, industrial and residential projects for private, state, federal and quasi-public (airports) projects. Mr. Fitzgerald has over 20 published articles in regional and national trade publications and has been an invited speaker to local and national trade associations (e.g. system builders, door dealers, electrical contractors, steel erectors).
