(PRWEB) January 27, 2006 -- Geo-Shelter Corporation of nearby Plymouth, MN. announced today that it had received a license from Argonne National laboratory of Chicago, IL to distribute, use and develop CeramicreteŽ throughout the United States. CeramicreteŽ is a unique material developed by Dr. Arun Wagh of Argonne Laboratory.

Ron Whitehouse, President and CEO of Geo-Shelter said that “CeramicreteŽ is an unusual new ceramic material that is up to three times as strong as concrete.” It was originally developed under a contract from the Department of Energy to encapsulate hazardous materials including nuclear waste. Subsequent evaluations indicated that CeramicreteŽ could be used in a variety of ways included pothole repair and in the construction of low-cost housing using Styrofoam as structural panels when sprayed with CeramicreteŽ. Whitehouse said, “This is the ultimate “green” material. As an additive aggregate you can use sawdust, wood chips, shredded rubber, ground glass, steel, brass and aluminum shavings and other items in the waste stream”. When fly ash is added the material is three time stronger than concrete.
Geo-Shelter has designed Modular Emergency Shelters utilizing these panels and has submitted the plans to several government agencies. Mr. Whitehouse said that “there is a critical need throughout the world for emergency shelters that could be used to house victims of natural disasters until more permanent housing is available”.
Geo-Shelter will be distributing pre-mixed CeramicreteŽ to a variety of users in the building, construction and architectural industries.
