Gemba Research Offers Second Value Stream Mapping Seminar

May 6, 2005 -- An increasing number of organizations are adopting Lean methodologies as part of their business planning and implementation strategy. First developed at Toyota, Lean aims to continuously improve by focusing everyone on reducing wasteful activities and speeding up the flow of value creation.

This involves drawing of a Value Steam Map as a first step in planning your Lean improvement strategy. A Value Stream Map is a drawing of the complete material and information flow from customer request to fulfillment. It highlights key metrics and data, in effect identifying where the biggest opportunities for improvement are in your business.

Lean 201: Creating Your Value Stream Map from Paper to Computer is the second in a series of free online training courses being offered by Gemba Research and Corel iGrafx. This session is designed to help you understand the process to create your Value Stream Map and why is important to have both paper and electronic versions.

This seminar will highlight what is required to create your current state map, how to transfer your map to electronic format for ease of
sharing and storage, and how value stream maps are an integral part of your business improvement plan.

Lean 201 will be presented online on May 17, 2005 at 11:00AM PST.
